Stabilyze Nutrition Bar Ingredient Details

Why is it an ingredient?

Here at Innova Nutrition Corp, home of Stabilyze nutrition bars, our focus is to make the best tasting, most intelligently formulated, economically priced and highest nutritional value bars on the market. Many of the bars available today are, unfortunately, just as unhealthy as a candy bar if you take a look at the Nutrition Facts. A bar might sound healthy when it says it only contains a few natural ingredients. However, often the sugar content is very high and without an equally high fiber and vitamin/mineral content to help metabolize the natural sugars in your body, it can lead to blood sugar imbalances. Without balance your blood sugar levels experience big highs and lows which can mean havoc on your metabolism and how your body processes other foods like fats and carbohydrates. Stabilyze bar ingredients are formulated to maintain nutritional and metabolic balance in your body and to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Beneficial ingredients include:

Whey protein: A great protein source that contains all nine essential amino acids including leucine which is beneficial to build and maintain muscle mass. Leucine is also associated with decreasing plasma insulin and improving the triglyceride (fat) blood levels.

Nut proteins: Each Stabilyze bar contains a nut butter, almond, cashew or peanut, to improve the dietary intake of plant derived proteins and good quality fats and oils. Research has shown that nuts such as walnuts, almonds and other tree nuts can improve blood cholesterol and help keep blood vessels healthy. The Mayo Clinic recommends eating about a handful (1.5 ounces, or 42.5 grams) a day of most nuts, such as almonds, peanuts, pecans, some pine nuts, pistachio nuts and walnuts, as it may reduce your risk of heart disease. They also recommend to be sure the nuts you eat aren't salted or coated with sugar. Stabilyze bars are low in sugar and salt and the nut butters are smooth to reduce the risk of digestive issues associated with consuming nut chunks that some individuals experience.

In addition to being a source of healthy fats, nut butters are packed with protein and fiber and are also a good source of vitamin E and magnesium. Research has shown that nut eaters are generally thinner, have a reduced risk of heart disease and are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes. The Stabilyze bars are cold processed to maintain the integrity of the fats and oils from the nut butters. The Stabilyze bars do not contain any added hydrogenated oils and are great tasting making it easy to consume a daily intake of healthy nuts.

Fiber: High-fiber foods have been shown time and again to increase satiety, reduce risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, and enhance digestive health. But despite these benefits, most people fall short of the recommended daily requirements, averaging only 15g per day—far below the suggested daily fiber intake of 25g for adolescents and adults. Each Stabilyze bar contains 8g of a prebiotic tapioca dietary fiber that helps to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the colon, supports bowel regularity and assists in hunger management. In addition, the mainly soluble tapioca fiber forms a gel like consistency in the stomach that slows stomach emptying. The delay of stomach emptying keeps the body feeling fuller longer, which is why fiber is so useful in supporting weight loss and weight management goals. Soluble fiber also helps block the absorption of dietary cholesterol which is beneficial and may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Agave syrup: Agave syrup is a natural sweetener that contains carbohydrates mostly in the form of the sugar fructose and some vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin K, riboflavin and vitamin B6. However, like most sweeteners, excessive isolated intakes of higher doses of fructose interferes with healthy metabolism. Sweeteners, such as Agave, when consumed in large quantities and concentrated delivery forms are unhealthy as the liver is forced to metabolize the fructose to triglycerides. Triglycerides in high levels can contribute to liver disease such as fatty liver. The unhealthy key is consuming “high amounts of concentrated levels” of isolated fructose to cause this unhealthy response. Since agave is 1.5 times sweeter than sugar less is used to get the desired sweetness in the Stabilyze bars. In addition, like most fruits which are also a source of fructose, when combined with vitamins, minerals, protein, healthy fats and fiber, the small amount of fructose (3-4g) from agave in the Stabilyze bars can be metabolized in a healthy manner and participate in a regeneration of our body’s energy stores (ATP) through a pathway called the Sugar Shuffle.

Dark Chocolate Coating: Dark chocolate is a source of polyphenols that have been shown to increase serum antioxidant capacity which may favorably affect cardiovascular disease risk factors such as blood pressure, LDL cholesterol oxidation and insulin sensitivity. Research suggests that while balancing calorie intake dark chocolate may provide some cardiovascular benefits if included as part of a healthy diet.

Vitamins and minerals:

The Stabilyze bars contain a healthy balance of antioxidants including Vitamins: Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E (ACE) and antioxidant supporting minerals: Zinc, Manganese, Selenium and Iron.

The Antioxidant Team (ACE) supports a healthy immune system. In addition, Vitamin C is essential for collagen synthesis, which is an important structural component of your bones, blood vessels, tendons, and ligaments, while Vitamin A is important for vision and bone health. The minerals Zinc, Manganese, Selenium and Iron are metal cofactors that assist the body’s antioxidant enzymes that break down and remove free radicals. In addition to the antioxidant vitamins and minerals, whey protein provides all the essential key amino acids for glutathione antioxidant production. Glutathione can be made by the body when these amino acids are available and is a powerful antioxidant and is considered a healthy anti-aging component of the body.

Vitamin D promotes calcium absorption in the gut and maintains adequate serum calcium and phosphate concentrations to enable normal mineralization of bone. It is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in USA. Even though vitamin D can be made by the action of sun on skin surfaces the use of sunscreens prevents this from happening. It was originally thought that vitamin D deficiencies were most common in the northern states but due to the use of sun screens and avoiding sun exposure due to cancer risk many Americans are found to be low in Vitamin D through routine bloodwork. Without sufficient vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen. Vitamin D sufficiency prevents rickets in children and bone loss in adults. Together with calcium and magnesium, vitamin D also helps protect older adults from osteoporosis. Both calcium and magnesium are found in nutritionally significant amounts in the Stabilyze bars.

Minerals that support blood sugar stability include zinc which is necessary for processing, storage, secretion, and action of insulin in the body; chromium which is key for the formation of Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF). GTF is synthesized in the body from absorbed dietary chromium, and acts as a physiological enhancer of insulin activity, binding to insulin and potentiating its action about three-fold. Another important mineral is magnesium which is a cofactor of many enzymes involved in glucose metabolism. Magnesium is required for both proper glucose utilization and insulin signaling in the body.

Eating Habits

Last, but most importantly, Stabilyze bars support good eating habits. We have all heard you should aim to eat 5-6 meals/snacks every day. I know it can be hard to prepare that much food, but this is where the convenience of Stabilyze bars comes into play.

In the morning, enjoy a Stabilyze bar to kick start your metabolism or if you have time, cook and eat a balanced breakfast that includes protein, healthy fat and some complex carbohydrates. All these macronutrients are essential to fuel your body and mind. Remember, breakfast means “breaking the fast” from when you were sleeping.

Don’t forget to pack healthy snacks for work. Eat a snack midmorning, enjoy lunch and have another healthy snack midafternoon (Stabilyze bar, anyone?). Exercise after work and have a lean protein dinner with vegetables.
